Spoonless French Onion Soup

There are a few things that make French onion soup great and We tried to hit them all with these burgers. First is the deeply caramelized onions. You need to let them cook for at least 45 minutes until they are dark brown, sweet and tender. Second is the melty browned cheese on top of the bread floating over the whole soup. We broiled the cheese on these burgers to make sure to recreate the same vibe in them.
